Niykee who's had a whirlwind few years including being selected by Snoop to join him at the YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee keeps a steady songwriting schedule despite this. At present, she is a magnet to aspiring producers she constantly combs through beats she receives and finds that many result in sparking ideas for songs. "I'll be able to tell within the first 5 minutes if this is a quality beat. When I've got a melody in my brain, I will start writing straight away." While I'm on my porch and play guitar, lyrics will come out and can be written in fewer than thirty minutes. Niykee states that, as she grows as a lyricist her painful memories from her youth serve as inspiration. The pain I felt growing in my youth as well as the loss of my sister is evident in my lyrics, even though they're not literally. The resulting music is shaped by my experiences and adds a greater sense of meaning that I believe is extremely important. I want to be able to listen to my music in the next 20 years and feel proud of what I have to say.
